On February 21, 2019, an important step was announced regarding our Excellerate! journey towards making supply chain a competitive advantage for Epiroc. Over the coming month we will take steps to unite our supply chain organizations for MRS (Mining and Rock Excavation Service) and RDT (Rock Drilling Tools). At the same time we will create a Global Master Data and Trade Compliance organization. Uniting the supply chains serving both RDT and MRS will create synergies between the two divisions and unlock opportunities to build world-class capabilities at scale.

Mission:

The mission of the Global Supply Hub Manager is to manage all information flows related to Global supply, demand and distribution setup of global parts from suppliers into the Supply Chain network for the different global supply hubs that will be set up. The Global Supply Hubs (GSHs) manage the replenishment of Global Parts from external suppliers within the region for RDCs located globally. The objective of the Global Supply Hub (GSH) is to reduce the transport costs between different regions.

 

Job description:

Coordinate inbound volumes with suppliers

Organize supplier co-planning meetings to assure capacity of supply at key suppliers based on global demand planning forecasts (coming from global S&OP manager) Collect other supplier intelligence and include in ability to supply Report full supplier picture to S&OP for ability to supply Level loading of suppliers

 

Allocation of supply

Allocate constrained parts based on proposal from MRS president Execute supplier demand allocation within network (which RDC buys from where)

 

Set up of replenishment for global parts from supplier to GDC/RDC and or from GDC to RDC

Decide inbound replenishment path for LDCs within region Optimize physical inbound flows (Supplier to G/RDC) Optimize physical outbound flows t other regions and/or CCS in collaboration with global transportation manager, including defining whether an MRS part for an SR order will be shipped via sea or air freight Replenishment execution (call offs etc.) will be done by inbound supply manager

 

Supplier logistics development: implementation of project

Manage and support forecast Oversee packaging optimization activities linked to transportation, storage and handling - Supplier and Epiroc for aftermarket Support in the implementation and follow up of supplier logistics agreement Educate suppliers on how delivery performance is measured and how orders are handled at suppliers i.e., POs, emails, confirmation Oversee packing, packaging, branding and marking of goods according to guidelines and suggest improvements Has a proactive approach towards VMI, Consignment, kanban etc. Coordinate IT requests linked to logistics, forecasts etc. Provides inputs into MOQ and order multiple optimization from supplier Develop and follow up on business case linked to requested and ongoing supplier activities Work with suppliers and with Epiroc in terms of total lead-time optimization

 

Roll out of GSH in other regions

  • Roll out GSH principles to other regions, based on input received from Excellerate! Global network configuration

People management

  • Establish the global supply hub organization (hiring, training, onboarding, coaching, etc.) within UCM
  • Identify the managers for the Global Supply Hubs in the other regions

Educational and experience requirements:

  • Degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, or related degree. MBA is preferable.
  • At least 10 years in global supply chain management (domestic and international experience).
  • Experience in the global supply chain and global distribution systems and processes.
  • Experience in end-to-end supply chain management involving distribution, inventory management, and project management.
  • Experienced leader with track record of managing people in an global context with a good mix of strategic, tactical and operational management
  • Strong understanding across all modes of transportation for international transport.
  • Ability to develop supplier relationships
  • Experience in procuring freight, leading / driving freight bids, node/network optimization and Trade Compliance.
  • Strong English communication skill both verbal and written. Additional language will be preferred.

Country and city description This positions location is TBD, Preferably Örebro or Fagersta, and reports to the VP Supply Chain MR, Hans Kuehn. In this position occasional travel is required.
